We are accredited by the National Department of Social Development to facilitate family, national adoptions, as well as inter-country adoptions. Family adoption is whereby a child is adopted within the family, whilst national adoption is adoption done within the Republic of South Africa. For inter-country Adoption we are accredited to match local children with families from Belgium. We are also accredited to match Indian Citizens in the Republic with Children from India through an agency called CARA and have placed some Indian babies with South African Indian couples. However, the process has not been an easy one and couples have been let down by CARA. For this reason, we intend winding down our assosication with CARA in the near future. Adoption is a legal process by which the rights and responsibilities for a child are wilfully surrendered by one set of parents and taken on by another hence all these processes are facilitated by the Department of Social Development and ultimately the Department of Justice.
